The area surrounding the hotel feels on edge, with loud disturbances from the night crowd and nearby bars. My room, while clean, had a basic setup reminiscent of 1970s decor, with hard beds and inadequate lighting. The shower curtain was a poor substitute for a proper shower cabin, leading to a flooded bathroom each time I took a shower. Plus, the absence of a refrigerator in the room meant I couldn't keep any drinks cold during my stay.

Weird vibes and hidden fees
Honestly, the place gives off some pretty sketchy vibes, especially at night. I felt like I had to keep an eye on my stuff all the time. The single room was small, but the breakfast spread was decent. Just watch out for the surprise charges at checkout, they really caught me off guard.

the novum was a great choice for us. our room was nice and clean, and it was just a short 10-15 minute walk to hamburg hauptbahnhof. the staff was incredibly friendly, which made our stay even better. we enjoyed the wide selection at breakfast, and the various exercise machines available for a good workout were a nice touch!
